Network maintenance BIT-2A
07-03-2019 00:00:01
- 07-03-2019 07:00:01
Urgency: Planned
Affected services: Customers with a network connection to switch switch 'rbfs2.bit-2a' or 'rbfs3.bit-2a'
Expected Impact: Short disruption of service
Customer intervention required: No
Reference number: 161044
Summary:
On Thursday March 7th between 0.00h and 7.00h BIT will perform network maintenance. Customers with a network connection to switch 'rbfs2.bit-2a' and 'rbfs3.bit-2a' (this can be found on your invoice) will be moved to our new switches. As a result these network connections will experience short disruption of service during the transition. We aim to keep the downtime to an absolute minimum.
Details:
The BIT network has grown rapidly in recent years. Just like the number of customers and bandwidth usage. It is therefore necessary to implement a number of major changes in our network, so that further growth can be provided. By installing new equipment and applying new techniques, the network is more robust and easier to adapt to customer requirements. During this maintenance, customers will be transferred from the current network to this new network.
