Recertification audit ISO 27001 and NEN 7510

BIT’s entire service package has been certified with ISO 27001 and NEN 7510. These certifications ensure our clients that their data will be handled responsibly and according to strict guidelines. Our current certificates are valid until January 1st, 2020.

We want to inform you that DEKRA, the organisation that is responsible for our ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 audits, has been suspended for the ISO 27001, NEN 7510 and ISO 20001 norms. This means that DEKRA cannot issue any more certificates for these norms, until the suspension is retracted by the Accreditation Council (RvA). For BIT, this means that the new certificates will not be available in time to connect to the current certifications.

At the start of 2019 we have requested DEKRA to plan a timely audit so we would have enough time to adjust possible shortcomings. DEKRA’s auditor visited us at the end of September for the recertification audit. The auditor let us know that we were up for recertification. Due to the suspension by the RvA, DEKRA cannot continue the certification process now.

The expectation is for DEKRA to have fixed their problems by the end of January 2020, so the RvA will retract the suspension. From that moment on, the certification process can be resumed at DEKRA and the certifications can be provided then.

BIT also expects the problems at DEKRA to be fixed by the end of January 2020 and we will notify you when the certificates have been activated. We have had contact with other audit parties in order to realise certification in case DEKRA cannot fix their issues in time.

We will keep you updated on developments in the case. If you have any questions about this post, please let us know.

BIT has received a certificate from DEKRA for NEN 7510-1: 2017, valid from 01-01-2020 until 01-01-2021. This certificate is not issued under accreditation from RvA. You can request this certificate from us.

It is expected that BIT will receive a NEN 7510-1: 2017 certificate from DEKRA later in 2020 that has been issued under accreditation from RvA and is also valid for longer than 1 year.
