– Websites hosted on the Shared Linux platform may be temporarily unavailable
– VDC customers will, among other things, be unable to use VNC to access their virtual machines.
– The BIT website and BIT-portal may experience brief periods of unavailability
– Customers utilizing the shared file system may experience brief service interruptions

Summary:

In preparation for upcoming network maintenance, the standby node will be promoted to active node. During this maintenance, the CephFS cluster will be briefly unavailable at certain moments.

Details:

During the maintenance, the shared file system, CephFS, will be temporarily unavailable at least once – and potentially multiple times. This is necessary to promote the standby node to active node. Throughout this process, the CephFS cluster will be temporarily unavailable. This maintenance is being carried out now so that during future network maintenance, only the standby node will be involved. The impact will then be limited to reduced redundancy, allowing full attention to be given to the network component of the future maintenance.
