SLA Reports in the Portal
SLA Reports in the Portal
Each month, we prepare a Service Level Agreement report for our colocation and managed server customers. These reports are published in the portal on the fifth of the month.
BIT provides standard Service Level Agreements for various services. You can find a complete overview of the SLAs that BIT typically provides here. Since May 2025, we have been reporting monthly on how well we’ve met the commitments in these SLAs. These reports appear automatically in the portal and are visible to the contacts within your organisation who have the permissions to view them.
The report includes, among other things: an overview of generic incidents from the past month, maintenance carried out during the previous month, power availability in the data centres, temperature deviations in the data centres, which racks your organisation uses, which uplinks you utilise, load balancer availability, an overview of servers we back up, any issues with those backups, and summaries of incident and security tickets for your organisation.
The report only includes components relevant to the services BIT provides to your organisation. For example, if you don’t use BIT’s backup services, you won’t find that section in your report. With the exception of some general components (such as the availability of www.bit.nl), the reports are prepared individually for each organisation. No information about the services you use from BIT will appear in another organisation’s report.
The reports are prepared in LaTeX, and organisation-specific components are inserted into the reports using the Jinja template engine. Needless to say, the reports are generated automatically.
If you have any questions or comments about the SLA reports, we’d be pleased to hear them. Should you have ideas for expanding the reports, please don’t hesitate to share them with us.
