Network maintenance BIT-2B and BIT-2C

– Customers with a network connection to switch “leaf-sw3.bit-2b”
– Customers with a network connection to switch “leaf-sw1.bit-2c”
– Customers with a network connection to switch “leaf-sw3.bit-2c”
Expected impact:
– Disruption of the network connection for approximately 30 to 60 minutes while replacing leaf-sw1.bit-2b, leaf-sw3.bit-2b, leaf-sw1.bit-2c and/or leaf-sw3.bit-2c

Summary:

Switches leaf-sw1.bit-2b, leaf-sw3.bit-2b, leaf-sw1.bit-2c and leaf-sw3.bit-2c will be replaced with new hardware because the old switches are end of life.

Details:

The switches will be replaced one by one. During this process each switch will be powered down, which will cause connections to be temporarily unavailable. These interruptions are expected to last approximately 30 to 60 minutes.

You can check your invoice and the network statistics in the customer portal to see if you are using connections on these switches.

Due to instability in leaf-sw1.bit-2c, it restarted several times. The switch was eventually replaced and is now stable.
