Hosted Nextcloud
Would you like to deploy Nextcloud without having to design, build and manage the underlying infrastructure yourself? With Hosted Nextcloud, BIT provides a fully hosted Nextcloud environment from our own Dutch datacentres. We take care of the technical foundation and the initial setup, ensuring a stable, secure and highly available environment. Your organisation remains fully in control of the configuration and use of the platform.
Hosted Nextcloud at BIT
Hosted Nextcloud at BIT is a managed platform service. We install and host Nextcloud on infrastructure within our own data centres and configure the environment based on your requirements for capacity, performance, availability and security. Depending on the desired architecture, the environment can be designed with redundancy and supported by suitable backup and monitoring solutions.
BIT manages the underlying infrastructure from a technical perspective. This means we are responsible for maintaining servers and platform software, implementing infrastructure level security measures, monitoring and handling incidents related to the technical environment. This allows your organisation to focus on the use and further development of the platform itself.
Request a quoteNextcloud Gold Partner
BIT is a Gold Partner of Nextcloud. Through this partnership, we not only provide the hosting environment, but can also supply and manage the required Nextcloud licences.
This collaboration gives us direct access to the platform developers, as well as enterprise functionality and support provided by Nextcloud itself. For organisations, this means hosting, licensing and technical expertise surrounding the platform can all be arranged through a single provider.
What you can do with Nextcloud
Nextcloud is a comprehensive platform for collaboration and the secure sharing of data within and between organisations. Users can centrally store, synchronise and share files, both internally and with external parties. Through the web interface, desktop clients and mobile apps, employees always have access to their data, regardless of location or device.
In addition, Nextcloud offers an extensive ecosystem of collaboration applications. These include shared calendars, contact management, task lists, notes and real time document editing. Integrations with existing identity solutions such as LDAP or SAML make it possible to incorporate Nextcloud into existing IT environments and centralise user management.
Thanks to its open source nature, the platform remains flexible and extensible. Organisations can add functionality through apps or integrations with other systems, without becoming dependent on a single supplier.
Data hosted in the Netherlands
The infrastructure for our Nextcloud solution runs entirely within our own datacentres in the Netherlands. Your data is stored under Dutch and European legislation. This means you are consciously choosing a solution without dependence on foreign hyperscalers or unclear jurisdictions.
For organisations that value digital autonomy and control over their data, this is a logical foundation. You know where your data is stored and under which legal frameworks it is processed.
Privacy and control over your data
With Hosted Nextcloud, your data remains entirely within your own environment. BIT manages the infrastructure and platform, but does not require access to the data your organisation stores or exchanges within Nextcloud.
Administrative activities such as updates, monitoring, maintenance, or the installation and configuration of apps can be carried out without access to user data. This ensures that the content of files, communications and collaboration remains fully under the control of your organisation.
For organisations that place importance on privacy, confidentiality and digital autonomy, this is a key principle: the infrastructure is professionally managed, while the data itself remains the property and responsibility of the organisation.
Security and compliance
BIT is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 standards. Our quality management and information security processes are regularly audited by external parties. This means our Nextcloud solution can be deployed within environments where demonstrable control of processes and security is required, such as healthcare, government organisations or professional service providers with strict compliance requirements.
The combination of an open source platform and a controlled, certified hosting environment offers organisations both flexibility and assurance.
Who is Hosted Nextcloud suitable for?
Hosted Nextcloud at BIT is used by organisations that want to retain control over their data and digital working environment. This includes healthcare institutions, government organisations and companies that work with sensitive information or are required to comply with specific legislation and regulations concerning data processing.
Organisations that deliberately choose open source software, or that wish to reduce their dependence on international cloud platforms, also use Nextcloud as the foundation for collaboration, document management and data exchange.
The combination of a flexible platform and hosting within Dutch datacentres makes Hosted Nextcloud suitable for organisations that value both functionality and data sovereignty.
Your role and responsibilities
With Hosted Nextcloud, BIT is responsible for the technical management of the platform. We ensure the environment is configured correctly, remains secure and up to date, and operates reliably. We also support your organisation with technical questions relating to the environment and can assist with the installation and configuration of apps and additional functionality within Nextcloud.
End user support remains the responsibility of your own organisation. Questions relating to login issues, the use of functionality or day to day user support are handled internally by your organisation.
This division of responsibilities makes it possible to manage the platform professionally, while your organisation retains control over users, data and daily support. At the same time, we can assist where necessary with technical configuration and management, without requiring access to the data stored within your Nextcloud environment.
Custom Solutions
No two organisations are the same. That is why we tailor your Hosted Nextcloud environment to your architecture, scale and availability requirements. This may include separate environments for testing and production, integration with existing identity solutions or additional requirements relating to redundancy and continuity.
We do not work with standardised packages. Every environment is designed around your specific situation and requirements.
