Summary:
Software on the load balancers and firewalls will be updated.
Details:
To ensure this firmware update proceeds as smoothly as possible, the backup units will first be upgraded with the new firmware, after which the primary units will be updated. During this maintenance, traffic will be switched between the primary and backup units several times. These switchover events may cause one or more brief interruptions lasting one or several seconds to the services behind the firewalls and load balancers.

The firewall updates were done without any issues. In preparation of the software updates on the load balancers, a few configuration changes were made. This triggered an unexpected issue that prevented updating the load balancers. Solving these issues took so much time that there wasn’t enough time in this maintenance window left to do the updates in a controlled manner. These updates will be done in a new, to be announced later maintenance. The load balancers are now running as designed. This ends our maintenance for today.
