Summary:
Due to the disruption of load balanced services on April 15th, our vendor advices us to do configuration changes which require a reboot. There's an increased risk of disruption of load balanced services during the failover between the active and standby load balancer.
Details:
During the maintenance a hypervisor will be reinstalled. Some virtual machines with local storage will have to be shut down.
The vendor suspects that a problem with the allocation of memory to various components on the load balancer caused the disruption of load balanced serviced on April 15th. They advice us to make a configuration change to optimize memory allocations. This change requires a reboot of the load balancers. We will make this change turn by turn on the standby load balancer. There is an increased risk of disruption of load balanced services during the failover between the active and standby unit.
