Maintenance Ceph storage cluster
10-09-2020 00:00:00
- 10-09-2020 07:00:00
Urgency: Planned
Affected services:
- Virtual machines
- Shared storage
- Shared hosting
- MSSQL instances
Expected impact:
- Reduced redundancy
Customer intervention required: No
Reference number: 169939
Summary:
On Thursday September 10th between 00:00 hrs and 07:00 hrs engineers from BIT will perform maintenance on the Ceph storage cluster. The cluster will be expanded with extra storage nodes and firmware for NVMe drives will be upgraded.
Details:
The NVMe drives which don't have the most up-to-date firmware yet will be upgraded to the newest version. After that the cluster will be expanded, in a controlled way, with extra storage nodes. We do not expect any impact on availability or services using the cluster. However, every upgrade comes with (extra) risks, therefore the upgrade and expansion will take place during a maintenance window.
