Maintenance on spine and storage switch BIT-2A
21-09-2022 00:00:00
- 21-09-2022 06:00:00
Urgency: Planned
Affected services:
Reference number: 181560
Summary:
The spine switch in BIT-2A and the switch for the storage cluster in BIT-2A will be upgraded. Traffic via this switches will be rerouted prior to this maintenance.
Details:
All switches in BIT datacenters are connected to two spine switches. During this maintenance, new firmware will be installed on the spine switch in BIT-2A. As a result, the switch will be unavailable for at least 15 minutes. Traffic via this switch will be rerouted via the switch in BIT-1.
Prior to the upgrade of the storage switch, iSCSI-LUNs hosted on storage gateways in BIT-2A will be moved to the storage gateways in BIT-1 and BIT-2C. During a switch-over, the iSCSI targets can be unavailable for several seconds, causing a short stall for iSCSI LUNs. MS SQL instances and MS SQL databases are using iSCSI backend storage. These services could experience a short disruption due to these stalls.
