EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE core routers

13-04-2016 00:00:00 - 13-04-2016 06:00:00

On Wednesday, April 13th between 0.00 and 6.00h we will perform emergency maintenance on our core routers. This emergency maintenance is needed to determine the root cause of a redundancy problem of our access network. This maintenance will be performed by engineers of BIT and our vendor.

In the last weeks our vendor has attempted to find the root cause of the problem by analysing logs, doing non impacting tests and rebuilding our setup in a lab environment. Unfortunately, they were unable to find this. Therefore we now need to perform a series of tests which will cause disruption on our network. We strive to reduce the length and impact of these tests to an absolute minimum, but unfortunately there is no other way to find the cause of these problems.

Our apologies for the inconvenience this may cause. Should you have any questions regarding this maintenance, please contact the Customer Care department by phone on +31 (0)318 648 688 or by email on support@bit.nl.

This maintenance has been completed. Parts of our network have been disrupted three times for one minute duration and one time for three minutes duration. Our vendor has performed a large number of tests which have resulted in a large set of logs and debugging output. This information will now be analysed, after which we will determine the next step to take.
