Power failure BIT-2A

Status: resolved

[06:57] Since 06:21 datacenter BIT-2A is supplied by power from an emergency generator. Engineers are investigating this issue. This might be related to the electrical maintenance in BIT-2 (https://www.bit.nl/news/986/90/Electrical-maintenance-BIT-2).

[Update 07:48] It is suspected that the transformer switch between the grid and the main distributor of BIT-2A is defective. The mains network operator and our installers are enabled to remedy this defect. A timeline for this is not to give yet.

At this moment BIT-2A runs entirely on backup generators.

We will update this incident message as soon as new information becomes available.

[Update 08:10] For several minutes BIT 2A runs whole on mains. Engineers of BIT and our installer managed to turn on the switch of the transformer.

The reason why the transformer switch has been turned off is still unknown and will be investigated further.

[Update 08:50] It appears that to one phase is missing in one room divider in BIT-2A. This results in that a number of racks in BIT-2A have no power on maximum one of two power feed. Colleagues of data center management are working to resolve the issue with this room divider.

[Update 09:15] The phase that was unavailable has been restored. Regular power supply to BIT-2A has been restored.
