This night we've experienced problems on one of our hypervisors. A few Virtual-Machines and services have been impacted.
As far as we know everything has been restored to working condition.
The incident has been resolved. If you have any questions regarding this incident, please contact the Customer Care department by phone on +31 (0)318 648 688 or by email on support@bit.nl.
Update placed at 11/10/2023, 14:10
During the announced network maintenance, problems occurred that, for unknown reasons, meant that hypervisors in BIT-2C could not reach the central storage.
Virtual machines from BIT itself and from our customers that were hosted on these specific hypervisors therefore did not function properly or had problems with storage.
When maintenance on the switches in BIT-2C was completed, storage was available normally again. BIT engineers subsequently restored virtual machines where possible.
Hypervisors of the BIT clouds are always connected to multiple switches, so that during maintenance on a switch, paths to storage and the internet always remain available. This was not the case during this maintenance, despite the fact that switch ports were still active. Investigations are underway to determine what caused this.
